Our Teachers

Miss Katy

Katy is delighted to be part of the Musical Magic team. Sharing music is her greatest joy, and sharing it with children is especially fun! Katy grew up in Waxahachie, Texas, where she developed an early love of singing through performing in musicals with her local community theatre.

After college, she taught music in elementary schools for two years, then went on to earn her Master’s degree in Voice Performance at Florida State University. Katy has continued to teach and work with children in many capacities, and has recently performed as a teaching artist with Chicago Opera Playhouse in The Magic Flute: Classroom Adventures, and with Lyric Opera of Chicago’s school outreach program, Opera in the Neighborhoods.

Katy is an active solo and choral performer, and has sung with many groups, including Chicago Fringe Opera, Main Street Opera, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Grant Park Music Festival, and Lyric Opera of Chicago.

Happy Clients

“Our one year old son Thomas just adores all the vibrant colors in the facility and the excitement from all the kids and teachers. He has a great time in every class. We will continue to enroll him until he is too old."

“I find it so fun to get out of the house and be able to take BOTH of my kids to a class and let them learn, play and enjoy music. We are planning on booking Eli's 2nd birthday party at Musical Magic and cannot wait to plan the event with Miss Katie.
